Veteran’s Best Friend Indiana, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to serving veterans of any branch of service and who have served in any capacity. We are also honored to offer our services to Gold Star Families.
Established in 2015, we are focused on the needs of veterans in Central Indiana. Counties we serve include:
Marion, Hamilton, Boone, Hendricks, Hancock, Johnson, Brown and Bartholomew. We hope to expand our coverage as more trainers join our team!
The objective of Veterans Best Friend Indiana, Inc. is to match a rescued dog that is selected and trained from the Indy area to veterans of any branch of service; including Gold Star Families. Clients are found via the VA hospitals, local medical clinics, special events and social media.
We work with local shelters and independent rescues to find appropriate dogs for the program. We will also place cats for individuals who are unable to care for or would prefer a feline friend.
VBF is committed to providing services to veterans by placing with them a trained, rescued, companion pet. Every pet paired with a Veteran is from a shelter, rescue, or in need of rehoming from a private individual, giving him or her a second chance at a new life with tremendous purpose.
Prefer a cat? We can do that too! Give us a call!
Please note – Veteran’s Best Friend Indiana, Inc. does not provide service animals. If you feel you want and qualify for a service animal, please visit www.woundedveteransfoundation.com
